Greetings:
Thank you for visiting the Yucca Council Website
and your support for Scouting. These are great
times for Boy Scouts of America. Since 1910,
over 144 million youth and their families have
enjoyed Scouting’s quality programs delivered by
quality volunteers.
Today, Scouting is more than 3 million strong
nationally and making a huge impact locally by
serving over 6,000 youth in 249 programs in the
Yucca Council, which services Southern New
Mexico and West Texas. An army of dedicated
volunteers serving as Cubmasters, Scoutmasters,
Venturing Crew Advisors, Explorer Post Advisors,
Assistants, District Committee Members,
Commissioners and Council Executive Board
Members continue to ensure that leadership,
service, and citizenship are practiced by our
youth members.
As we prepare for 2012, our volunteers are
focused on the “main thing,” our youth and
providing more families the opportunity to be a
part of our nation’s premier youth program that
teaches character development and values found
in the Scout Oath and Law.
Your participation in Scouting is a
demonstration of your support for the Boy Scouts
of America and the youth we serve. Again, thank
you very much!
Yours in Scouting,

David J. Jones
