Annual Lodge Banquet
Great Food, Great Fun, Great Company!
Sean Gray

Lodge Executive Committee Hard at
Work!
"Mom" Passes on Beadwork Skills.
|
|
The banquet started with the sound of the
lunch bell ringing. Snag a fry was everywhere, with bag fry
calls being made in the background. Even George Foret joined in
the festivities. Everyone had to secure their own lunch; some
went the extra mile breaking Scouting’s sacred rule: Parking
at McDonald’s and going to Burger King!
As the day progressed, people arrived like
busy little bees and classes were their honey. With experienced
teachers–greatness comparable to Benjamin Connel and Don Perry–and
willing participants–especially those playing Jeopardy–fun
was easily found at Mom and Jay’s craft table!
Four-o’clock rolled around and stations started closing
down in preparation
|
for the banquet that
evening. Even more arrowmen showed up, for who can deny the
chance to eat? Sadly, our Lodge Leadership was crammed into a
room, discussing silly things like "where to have the
Spring Ordeal" and "Section Business," honestly,
they could have spent their time trading patches.
With our professional catering–which
actually wasn’t that bad–arriving everyone seated themselves
and prepared to feast (the fourth W, Wafeastame). During dinner,
some interruptions were made, namely, announcing the people who
had received various honors and awards throughout 2005.
The ceremonies started with Nesatin Chapter awarding Mr.
Andrew Neal an original Nesatin Neckerchief
|
for his excellent service as Chapter Adviser.
Following, NM Vice Chief Jason Goss congratulated many of our
Arrowmen for earning the National Leadership in Service Award
for 2005. Next TX Vice Chief Ben Connel was up awarding the Lou
Duncan Service Award to Sean Gray, Matthew Ray, Mr. Dave Panko,
and Mr. Harold Romike. Finally, the Founder’s Award was
presented to Russell Folk and Matthew Ray.
Ending the night was our Vigil Callout
Ceremony where eight members were nominated to the Vigil Honor.
We’d like to congratulate David DiRoma, Russell Folk, Mark
Gouldsmith, Ian Stange, Ms. Merilee Daugherty, Mr. James Libbin,
and Mr. Jack Peterson, Mr. Harold Romike.
