Re-Charter 2024
Recent administrative changes have been made to membership and unit registration policies for Scouting America:

Membership Expiration Dates: Starting in August 2023, new members' registration lasts for a full 12 months. The expiration date is based on the month they joined, continuing annually (e.g., joining in August 2023 means expiration on August 31, 2024). Regardless of what day in the month that they joined.

Extended Membership Lapse Period: The grace period for renewing membership has been extended from 2 to 3 months to allow more time for members to renew without losing their membership status.

Unit Lapse Period: Similarly, the grace period for unit renewals has been extended from 2 months to 3 months.
These changes provide more flexibility for members and units to maintain their registration and avoid disruptions.
Every family will start receiving emails when their registration is coming up.
Units will still recharter in December but will also have a grace period.
